Professor Sharifah Hapsah led NCWO’s engagement in the second Malaysia Care Economy Forum, which brought together policymakers, civil-society organisations, industry representatives, academics and development partners.

The forum examined the professionalisation of care work, the creation of viable career pathways, access to quality care services and the disproportionate amount of unpaid and underpaid care undertaken by women. It contributed to wider policy discussions concerning Malaysia’s care ecosystem and the development of a national Care Economy agenda.
