Professor Sharifah Hapsah delivered an opening appeal for political parties to nominate women as at least 30 per cent of their candidates in the 15th General Election.

The forum brought together leaders from major political parties and produced a resolution calling for higher participation by women in politics and legislative bodies. One of its outcomes was the establishment of PantauPRU15 to monitor women’s participation in the election and their subsequent representation in Parliament and the Cabinet.
